[edit] Contents
God Passes By is organized in four periods representing different periods in the history of the Bábí and Bahá'í Faiths.
[edit] The Ministry of the Báb (1844-1853)
This section of the book explains the symbolic meaning behind events in the life of the Báb. It is also meant to summarize the Persian Bayan, one of the principal scriptural writings of the Báb.
[edit] The Ministry of Bahá'u'lláh (1853-1892)
This section of the book explains the symbolic meaning behind events in the life of Bahá'u'lláh. It is not meant to replace Adib Taherzadeh's narrative Revelation of Bahá'u'lláh, which provides a historical account of the Bahá'í timeline during Bahá'u'lláh's life, but rather to explain the divine significance in the chaotic period of the early days of the Bahá'í Faith.
[edit] The Ministry of `Abdu'l-Bahá (1892-1921)
This section of the book explains the symbolic meaning behind events in the life of `Abdu'l-Bahá. It explains the meaning of the Bahá'í Covenant in clear, easy-to-understand terms and details the communication between `Abdu'l-Bahá and Americans.
[edit] The Inception of the Formative Age of the Bahá'í Faith (1921-1944)
This section of the book explains the symbolic meaning behind events surrounding the unexplained death of `Abdu'l-Bahá and the reason that doubt was instilled in the minds of the believers. Anyone attempting to explicitly usurp the clear structure of authority left by `Abdu'l-Bahá in his last will and testament are regarded as Covenant-breakers.
