Goldfinger (song)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
"Goldfinger" was the title song from the 1964 James Bond film Goldfinger. Written by John Barry and Anthony Newley, the song was performed by Shirley Bassey for the film's title sequence as well as the soundtrack. The song was produced by George Martin, who was currently busy producing The Beatles during the hey-day of Beatlemania. Originally, Newley recorded it, but it was re-recorded with Bassey. In 1992, Newley's version was released for the 30th Anniversary of James Bond on film, in a compilation collectors edition The Best of Bond...James Bond. Bassey's theme sold more than a million copies in the United States, earning a Gold album for her; in the United Kingdom, the theme song reached as high as number 21 on the charts.
