Talk:Golan-Globus

Patrick Runkle writes: I run the cannonfilms.com appreciation site ... I did some editing to this page, but one of the big topics that is still unclear is the exact disposition of Yoram Globus and Cannon immediately after the Cannon bankruptcy in 1989. There should be some primary source that would resolve this question once and for all, but I am unable to find it. I once got a tip that Cannon became "Pathe Communications" and was somehow folded into MGM, with production continuing under former Cannon exec Christopher Pearce. Because Lambada: Set the Night on Fire was a Globus production that appeared under the Cannon banner, it's fair to say that Globus was still involved somehow for at least several years after Golan left. But I'm uncertain that Globus actually became head of MGM after Cannon's bankruptcy, as stated on the main page. Italian financier Giancarlo Peretti, who got into legal trouble over some parts of his MGM deal, was also involved.
