Gonzalo Gabriel Choy González (born November 11, 1981 in Montevideo) is a Uruguayan football midfielder currently playing for Argentinos Juniors in the Argentine premiership.
Choy began his career at C.A. Cerro in Montevideo, but soon made his way to Argentina. His first team in Argentina was Gimnasia y Esgrima La Plata. He stayed with Gimnasia for 4 years, then had short spells with Olimpo and Quilmes, before joining Argentinos Juniors in 2006.
In the 18th day of the 2006 Apertura tournament, Choy scored the equalizer against Estudiantes de La Plata. On the next match his former club, Gimnasia, presented him with a plaque, being certain that said goal would deny Estudiantes a chance at the championship. Ultimately, Boca Juniors lost two straight games, and Estudiantes secured, and won, a playoff match for the championship. Choy's effort proved fruitless, to the dismay of Gimnasia fans. The episode was the subject of much mockery by Estudiantes fans [1].
