[edit] History
Gorgon formed in 1995 in Chiba, Japan by four NWoBHM fans. They wrote and recorded many original songs but also covered over 100 NWoBHM songs.[1] Among these are bands such as A II Z, Bitches Sin, Blitzkrieg, Satan, Quartz, Bleak House and many more. Their name is taken from an Angel Witch song from their self-titled album. Their logo is taken from Angel Witch's first single with the goat head replaced with that of a gorgon and Gorgon written in the same font and arc that Angel Witch was. Many of their single covers pay homage to NWoBHM covers. The cover of Bad Girl is very similar to Bitches Sin's Always Ready (For Love) single. The cover to The Soundhouse Tapes Part 3 is almost identical to that of Iron Maiden's The Soundhouse Tapes.
