[edit] Professional career
Through a friend, in mid-June of 2004, Grégory was contacted by the producers of Star Academy in Paris who had wanted one more male singer for the show. Eventually, by the end of the show's run, Grégory had been announced the winner.
His debut single, Ecris L'histoire, peaked at number two on the French singles chart; and his debut album, Je Deviens Moi, released on April 18, number one.
At the NRJ Music Awards, Grégory was awarded Révélation francophone de l'année, a 'French-speaking breakthrough artist of the year' equivalent.
