[edit] Synopsis
Hanlon overhears Miguel boasting that he knows who raped Warden Glynn's daughter. He tells Father Mukada what he overheared and who then tells Glynn. Miguel refuses to give up the man's name so the Warden begins to beat him until Father Mukada intervenes. Glynn later turns down Peter Schibetta's offer to learn the truth in his own way.
Busmalis and Rebadow start to dig an escape tunnel through the floor in their pod under the cover of night.
McManus gives Diane the brush-off on her first day back in Em City.
McManus gives Wangler a book by Booker T Washington after he makes strides with reading. Adebisi pressures Wangler against going to school which causes Kenny to fall behind, much to the disappointment of McManus.
Beecher, Busmalis and Hill vote Sister Pete the sexiest woman in Oz. Beecher reveals she had a husband before becoming a nun.
Sister Pete visits Giles in solitary after he repeats her name over and over again. The conversation turns violent before she gets any answers.
Said's book about the riot is published and copies arrive in OZ.
Hill learns the judge who sentenced him has been arrested for taking bribes during trials. He enlists the help of Said to fight for a new trial. Hill berates his former public defender and begins to hope for an overturned verdict. He and Said meet with the prosecutor in his trial, Marilyn Crenshaw who was Said's fiancée before he became a Muslim. Said and McManus clash over how much leeway he deserves for preparation.
Against Gloria's wishes, the prison chooses to give Ryan a lumpectomy, instead of the more expensive mastectomy surgery.
Ryan meets with his wife Shannon and brother Cyril, before he has his surgery.
Schillinger is released from the Hole and charged with conspiracy to commit murder. After being beaten by black inmates on his first day back in gen pop, Vern and the Aryans kill Alexander Vogel, carving "Jew" on his chest and hanging him upside down from the gym. [edit] Quotes
- Shirley:(arriving on Death Row) How comfy.
- Schillinger: The Brotherhood's falling apart. When I ran the Brotherhood, we were feared. Now we got fucking fags looking tougher.
- Beecher: Hey, Vern they let you out of the hole already? You're mad at me, aren't you? Sure, you're mad and I understand why. I fucked up your chances for parole, you're facing ten more years in Oz, all because of me. Oh, man! I manipulated you like the dumbass, white trash neanderthal you are. You know, you get to know a lot about a man while he's fucking you in the ass.
- Beecher: We voted you sexiest.
Sister Pete: Sexiest, sexiest what? Beecher: Woman in the prison. Sister Pete: Oh, come on. Really? Beecher: Uh-huh!
- Hill: I'd fuck Dr. Nathan in a second.
Busmalis: Me too. Beecher: How about Wittlesey? Hill: Shit, yeah! Busmalis: Me too. Beecher: You know who I think is sexy, Sister Peter Marie. Hill: Yeah? Busmalis: That's disgusting! She's a nun.
- Adebisi: You think you're going to disrespect me, huh? You forget who your friends are Kenny? You not my friend, then you're my enemy, understand?
Wangler: Yeah.
- Hill: (narrating) Bad men have their impact too. But you gotta be really bad. Ivan the Terrible, Jack the Ripper, Adolf Hitler. Yeah, old Adolph was an evil fuck. And let's face it. Evil is the only thing that has survived intact these past thousand years.
- Peter Schibetta : Look, I can persuade Alvarez to give up the name of the prick who did this.
Glynn: No, thanks. Peter Schibetta: Why not? Hey, why not? Why not? Glynn: First, I don't want to owe you any more favors. And second, and I know you won't understand this, but it's not right. Peter Schibetta: Right, wrong, right, wrong. There's such a fine line between it.
- ) Glynn: Tell me who raped her.
Alvarez: I ain't telling you dick. You got all the power, huh? I mean, you think that you can just shit on people, shit on people and you get away with it? Not this time. And you can go fuck yourself. Father Mukada: Miguel, for God's sake, tell him what you heard about his daughter. Alvarez: What? That she's a lousy lay?
- Alvarez: Hey, Rebadow. You know, I think I got you. I think I got a piece of information before you.
Rebadow: Really? Alvarez: Mmm-hmm! It's about Glynn and his daughter. Rebadow: You mean that she was brutally raped and is in the hospital? Alvarez: Shit! How'd you know that?
- (Hanlon is coming in to report details of a rape)
Mukada: Come in Richie. What's up? Hanlon: I love to take it in the ass. Mukada: (pauses uncertainly) Uh-huh.
- Hill: Aw, fuck.
Beecher: What? Hill: Beecher! Beecher: WHAT!? Hill: You farted! Beecher: No, I didn't! Hill: Pee-fucking-ew! Beecher: I didn't fart! Hill: Damn, man, five hours til dawn and I gotta be in a glass box with the king of stink. I'm gonna get Gulf fucking War syndrome!
