The Greece National Rugby Union team is one of the worlds newest international rugby playing nations. The national team resorts under the HRU (Hellenic Rugby Union) or EOP (Elliniki Omospondia Rugby), and is presided by Mr. Evangelos Stamos. Greece has been participating in international competitions since October 2005 playing its first international game in Vienna against Austria. Since then, they have played several international games in FIRA competition 3D, and Greece will play the final of their pool against Slovakia on 2007-05-12 in Thessaloniki, in order to promote to division 3C. The current coach of the Greek national team is Matt Bridge, who is also club coaching co-ordinator at Northampton Saints, where he has worked alongside Ian McGeechan.
