Green Island Serenade

"Green Island Serenade" (Traditional Chinese: 綠島小夜曲; pinyin: Lǜdǎo Xiǎoyèqǔ; also known as "Serenade of Green Island") is a Mandarin Chinese lullaby written sometime in the late 1950s or early 1960s and famously performed by Teresa Teng.

This song sometimes has political meaning, as Green Island, Taiwan was used as a place of exile for political prisoners from the late 1940s during the single party rule of Taiwan's Kuomintang political party. The original intent of this song is probably a tribute to Taiwan.^{[citation needed]}
