Greenfield School Community and Arts College is a mixed public school on the suburbs of Newton Aycliffe. It was opened in 1974 and it has been visited by Tony Blair. It is rivaled by Woodham CTC, the other comprehensive school in the area. Although rivals, the schools share some 6th form classes as the number of 6th form students is sometimes too low to form a full class. This is common in subjects such as Philosophy, Pyscology, PE and Health & Social Studies, at A and AS Level.
