Grenville Hair (born 16 November 1931, Burton upon Trent, died March 1968) is an ex-Leeds United footballer, who played for the club between 1948 and 1964, and ex-Bradford City manager.
During his career he made over 470 appearances for the club as a left-back scoring 2 goals in the process. Signing his first professional contract with the club in 1948 it was manager Major Frank Buckley who persuaded him to concentrate on the football side of sport rather than athletics. He was one of the first names on the team sheet at 21 and was an almost ever-present for 10 years until Paul Reaney and Willie Bell started to claim more regular places in the side. Grenville stayed with the club until 1964 when he took up a player-manager position at Wellington Town. He stayed there until 1967 when he took up the position of coach at Bradford City. He was soon promoted to the position of manager and between January 1967 and March 1968 he managed the club having a record of:
P | W | D | L | Success Rate |
55 | 27 | 10 | 18 | 55.15% |
Grenville suffered a heart attack at the end of a training session with Bradford City in March 1968 and died as a result.
