Grim's Dyke

Grim's Dyke is the name of the house which W.S.Gilbert (of Gilbert & Sullivan) bought in 1890 and where he contiunued to live till his death (by drowning whilst swimming in the pond) in 1911. It was used as a location for films & television including Futtock's End with Ronnie Barker. It was converted into a hotel in 1970s.
Grim' Dyke is an alternative name for an earthwork known as Grim's Ditch.
