Grimalditeuthis bonplandi is a squid named after the Grimaldi family, reigning house of Monaco. His Serene Highness Prince Albert I of Monaco was an amateur teuthologist who pioneered the study of deep sea squids by collecting the 'precious regurgitations' of Sperm Whales.
