Groundwork Medway Swale

Groundwork Medway Swale is an environmental charity operating in North Kent, UK. It helps build sustainable communities through joint environmental action.
In July 1995 Groundwork Medway Swale was the 19th Groundwork Trust to be established, operating in the Boroughs of Medway and Swale, North Kent. Groundwork Medway Swale works in partnership to bring about environmental, economic and community regeneration to address local needs, to help create a place that we want to work, live and stay.
From small community projects to major regeneration programmes Groundwork Medway Swale uses the environment as a means of engaging and motivating local people to improve their quality of life. Long term knowledge of the area, coupled with skilled, enthusiastic and committed staff ensure effective delivery of sustainable high quality projects. In its first 10 years of operation it progressed over 250 projects, planted 23,000 trees, provided or supported education programmes in over 120 schools and worked with just under 250 organisations. Each year it delivers a programme of improvements worth £1.5 million, with projects ranging in value from £500 to £3,000,000.
