Guðmundur Torfason

Guðmundur "Gunni" Torfason (born December 13, 1961 in Vestmannaeyjar) is a retired Icelandic footballer.
A striker, he became top goalscorer in the Icelandic league in 1986 with 19 goals. He later came to prominence with St Mirren F.C., having joined the team from Rapid Vienna in 1989. He became club top scorer three seasons in a row, and being an Icelandic international he still holds the club record of most caps (26 caps, 4 goals). In 1992 Torfason left St Mirren for St Johnstone F.C.. He eventually ended his career after spending the 1996 season with Grindavík.
