Gua (First Wave)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Gua are an alien race that infiltrated humanity in the cancelled TV series First Wave.
They attempted to conquer the planet in three waves with the first being the initial infiltration, the second the military invasion and the final third wave leading to Armageddon that would scour the Earth of human life and rebuild it for its new Gua 'masters'. This was all catalogued in the tomes of Nostradamus who was, in the series, an alien being who left clues for the hero of the series on how to defeat this invasion which humanity was unaware of.
They were known to have been a once peaceful species until they were invaded and enslaved by another hostile species. They defeated their oppresser and named themselves 'Gua' which means the power to overcome. They took an aggressive expansionist policy after this time, despite objections from certain members of their own population.
Their true alien form is not known as they transferred their minds into metallic orbs to the planet Earth through a wormhole that connected their homeworld to the target planet. These minds would then be transfered into new human bioengineered cloned husks. These husks contained a small amount of Gua DNA that allowed them special abilities such as increased intelligence, speed, strength and the ability to regenerate. They were free to change between their husks whenever they wanted to as Joshua stated he was in his 'third form'. During the infiltration, they conducted a large range of experiments on humans to better understand their enemy. It was noted in the series that there were 1800 experiments being conducted at the time of the First Wave. They also faced resistance in the form of a small number of humans, such as the Raven Nation.
Despite their infiltration of 40% of the world population, they had noted certain problems arise among their kind n the last 40 years. One of which is the inexperience in adjusting to the range of human emotions and experiences. Another noted problem is an addiction to Salt that acts like Heroin to them. Gua agents found using the compound are known to be executed.
They were divided into three classes; the Acolyte warriors, the Osmosist spies and the scientific Empiricists.
Noted characters are the philosopher known as Medek, the evil ruler of the Guahead Assembly Mabus and the rebel Joshua.
