Guadalinex is a Ubuntu based Linux distribution promoted by the government of Andalusia (Spain). It's used in:
- Schools
- Public libraries
- Centers for elderly people
- Guadalinfo centers
The latest stable version is 3.0, published on February 8, 2006. While previous releases where based on Debian unstable, from version 3.0 it is based on Ubuntu.
There are five different versions of Guadalinex:
- Guadalinex EDU (specially developed for schools)
- Guadalinex CDM (for centers of elderly people)
- Guadalinex Guadalinfo (only use in Guadalinfo centers, where any Andalusian citizen in rural areas can access the Internet for free)
- Guadalinex Bibliotecas (special version for public libraries)
- Guadalinex Mini (minimalistic Guadalinex distribution, suitable for old computers)
