[edit] Notes
Hi. See Talk:Maya civilization for why I reverted your move of Joya de Ceren to the "most important sites" heading. Also, please note that you need to include information on the source and the copyright status for any images you upload. Such information needs to be on the Wikipedia:Image description page for each image. See Wikipedia:Images for more details on this. Please note that this is important; images lacking such information may be removed from Wikipedia. Thanks, -- Infrogmation 17:29, 25 Jun 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Fair use image removal
Sorry to edit your userpage, but I had to remove the image Image:Arsenal FC.png as it is used in Wikipedia under a fair use rationale. Wikipedia's fair use policy forbids the use of fair use images in user pages, so I have no choice but to take it out. Qwghlm 23:27, 31 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Andrade Coat of Arms
I'm an Andrade from El Salvador, now living in Indiana, USA. I was looking at a newer coat of arms, and I noticed snakes and cauldrons and a winged serpent crest. Were the Andrades witches or I don't know sorcerers or something hundreds of years ago? Guanaco152003 00:50, 6 February 2006 (UTC)
- Hello Guanaco152003. I do not know the coat of arms you're refering to, but the simbology of Iberian heraldry does not point to witches or sorcerers... The cauldron was a symbol of power (having the possibility to feed lots of people), and the serpent or dragon (winged serpent) are fairly common in European heraldry, namely in Portugal, where they are an important symbol since 1000 BC. Also remember that a specific coat of arms may not have any specific connection with the original coat of arms presented in the Andrade article. The Ogre 11:28, 6 February 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Image Tagging Image:Casanoc.jpg
![]() |
|
Thanks for uploading Image:Casanoc.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then you can use {{GFDL-self}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{fairusein|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other media, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Shyam (T/C) 16:02, 3 March 2006 (UTC)
[edit] I would love your help.
I know you are interested in christianity, and I recently started a new wiki over at wikicities which is on the subject of christianity. Christian Knowledge Base is the site.
The goal is to have a knowledgebase on christianity from a distinctly "C(hristian)POV" rather than the NPOV. It is not meant to be a mere Christian Encyclopedia, but to foster a real sense of community. I'd like to include things like current events, news, stories, and anything that would add to both an understanding of Christianity, but also its enjoyment. I'm looking for help to build a resource that could really enrich the lives of Christians.
I know you are busy but I am actively seeking new sysops/admins to help me build this site up, and I would be positively thrilled if you could contribute in any capacity whatsoever. nsandwich 05:51, 24 March 2006 (UTC)
[edit] "Vandalism" Revert
Not a problem, Guanaco, just helping out. Sorry for any confusion thast I may have inadvertently caused. Cheers. --HubHikari 13:49, 20 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Thanks for your contributions - know anyone to help out on Morazán articles?
I'm working on articles related to Morazán -- Corinto, Perquín, Museum of the Revolution (El Salvador), Radio Venceremos, and so forth. If you know anyone who could contribute or would be interested in helping, please post to my Talk page. Hope you find many ways to "pitch in"! Lawikitejana 18:50, 15 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] The new portal of El Salvador
Dearest Guanaco152003,
I have recently created a portal of El Salvador. I was hoping, because of your heritage and Salvadoran-related contributions, that you could help me make the Portal better by adding something I have not already posted. You see, I myself had lived there, but I have not been in the country for a while, so I am writing to you in hopes that you could expand some of the sections (particularly Quotes and News), and others if you wish. I am confident you will make a good decision, so we can bring knowledge of El Salvador to wikipedia, and the world. BashmentBoy 19:47, 27 November 2006 (UTC)BashmentBoy
Thank you so much for your polite response. If you'd like to, I would appreciate it if you helped me with the "Quotes" Section (perhaps you could include sayings from Roque Dalton, Fernando Llort, Ana Maria, Farabundo Marti, Tony Saca or other people that have made comments about El Salvador) and "News" (which I am having a very hard time finding). You can also choose any Salvadoran-related biography, article, or picture (with its article) that you want, and post it. BashmentBoy 06:35, 3 December 2006 (UTC)BashmentBoy
[edit] Update
Dear Guanaco152003,
I have finally been able to visit La Prensa Grafica's website, laprensagrafica.com. This is a very good place to find news. From now on, the news section in the El Salvador portal will be updated more frequently than the rest (instead of once a week, we might try once every three days). Thought you'd might like to know.
