[edit] Copyvio from Jargon File
I've tagged this a potential copyvio, as it duplicates verbatim the source from the original Jargon File. While the author/maintainer of the Jargon File, Eric S. Raymond is an open-source advocate he specifies that it should not be "mirrored by hand" nor distributed for potential print publication: "Please don't publish or distribute printed versions of the Jargon File. We can't legally stop you, but you shouldn't do it anyway. The File has a paper publisher (MIT Press) and a paper version, The New Hacker's Dictionary. They were good sports about the electronic re-distribution rights -- let's not make them regret that." [1] Thus, full rights to Wikipedia to copy/republish this entry are not seemingly granted. --LeflymanTalk 15:29, 28 February 2007 (UTC)

- On the quoting page of the Jargon File, there is a bit different wording. http://www.catb.org/~esr/jargon/quoting.html
- The page http://www.jargondb.org/glossary/ha-ha-only-serious listed as the witness of the copyvio is not the original source anyway. Maybe a lawyer shall ponder over the issue. TMA 11:13, 1 March 2007 (UTC)
It's marked as public domain, and, as the document itself admits, there's no legal reason not to keep it here. --Kim Bruning 13:55, 2 March 2007 (UTC)
