Halobutyl rubber

Halobutyl rubber is mainly used for tire inner liner compounds, because of its low air permeability. Bromobutyl is superior to Chlorobutyl, but is more expensive. The halogen radical permits the rubber to bond to the other elasomers in the carcass compound
