Ham Kee-Yong

Ham Kee-Yong(1930-?) is a former South Korean athlete.
He is best known as the winner of 1950 Boston marathon.
In 1950,4,19, at 1950 Boston marathon he won the race with the record of 2:32:39, under the coach Sohn Kee-chung, the marathon winner of 1936 Berlin Olympics. At that marathon, 2nd and 3rd places are South Koreans also.

Afterwards a congratulation event of his Boston victory was in the preparation, but in the middle, the wellknown "Korean War" broke out in 1950,6,25 so that no event of his victory was opened.
In 2004, 4, 18, a congratulation event was finally opened in his hometown to 75 aged Ham.
