Hans Schmidt-Isserstedt

Hans Schmidt-Isserstedt (born May 5, 1900, died May 28, 1973) was a German conductor. He is most famous for conducting the North German Radio Symphony Orchestra from its inception in 1945 until shortly before his death. He also made a well-regarded recording of all the Beethoven symphonies.
His son was the British record producer Erik Smith.
