Haripada Dasa

Haripada Dasa also known as Laszlo Varga is the chairman of the vegafood group which is a company that delivers vegetarian food to people.
He was born in budapest, Hungary in 1965. He gained admission to the university of Miskolc in 1984. He studied there for three years as a mechanical engineer. After that he went to Australia with his wife, Bhakti Chandrika dasi. His son was born in 1989 in melbourne.

He came back to Hungary in 1991 where he joined The international society for krishna consciousness and soon travelled to Belgium where he was told to organize a school. He got initiated by Sivarama Swami in 1992. He was told to build up a farm in somogyvamos, a small village in western hungary, this is where he first shined as a leader. From nothing, he built up a whole community in hardly 4 years. He built a temple, many houses, installed the deities etc. The grand opening of New Vraja Dhama was in 1996. In 1999 due political reasons he went to India where his son was attending school. He was given the task of "pumping up" the preaching in the southern city of mangalore. And again due to politics he was forced to leave mangalore behind, and for now this is where his carrier in iskcon ends.

In 2000 he started the jewellery business, selling mainly diamonds. He established a company called Radhika jewellery, but the company went bankrupt due to the lack of customers. Later he started several businesses which were not successful, including antiquities in Romania, bringing LifeGem to hungary etc. Finally at the end of 2004 he started selling muffins which he cooked at his kitchen at home. The idea of making a company that delivers vegetarian dishes popped out then. In march,2005 he started vegafood with hardly any orders in the beginning. the company grew, so in August,2005 he rented a proper kitchen. In June,2006 vegafood moved to an even bigger kitchen, a month later vegafood started delivering food to cities other than budapest. Currently vegafood is the lone delivery service offering more than 20 different dishes, which are all vegetarian.
