I've removed this sentence:
People who saw these settlers collecting the berries started to call them "haweaters".
because it's by no means clear who these "people" were who referred to the settlers as "haweaters". The native inhabitants? other settlers? This needs a clarification, preferably from a cited reference, before it goes back in. Sonitus 18:46, 18 July 2006 (UTC)
