[edit] Your editor/browser

I noticed that your browser (or editor) does not properly supoprt Unicode (based on your recent edit to Missingno., where various characters were "converted" into ?). It's no big deal, since it's easily fixed, but you may want to upgrade or reconfigure it to properly use Unicode. --Pidgeot (t) (c) (e) 10:44, 28 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] NBC logo

I only noticed now, that you created a vector of the NBC logo. I also just did that (except I did it today). Although I uploaded after you, it seems the one I made is a slightly more accurate trace (compare the corners of the peacock colour-things). I also added transparency to mine. And finally the one uploaded today is only 7kb, while yours in 23. As such I'm going to list yours for deletion (otherwise we'd be listing mine, but then replacing yours at the same namespace since this one's smaller). The one I uploaded is at Image:NBClogo.svg in case you want to take a look. Oh also, what did you do it with? - Рэдхот 12:25, 17 June 2006 (UTC)

If you want you can upload it over the old namespace (I don't have the original, or currently the time to download it, and reupload it). But since its already been IFDed, I'm not sure if that's a good idea. (Oh and BTW, although you didn't ask, I thought you might like to know I used Inkscape) - Рэдхот 12:29, 20 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image Tagging for Image:WCCO_Logo_(2006).gif

Thanks for uploading Image:WCCO_Logo_(2006).gif. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

[edit] About the Filipino-American Christian Church

You were saying that the article Filipino-American Christian Church was done by only one person and some other person came "Out of the Blue". Yesterday, I asked the pastor of my church to help me with the article. He came on there and changed it. I added a few things to it. I think you should think before you act, and write, before you post untrue things.
Thank You

If you are upset with the topic "God's Holy Word is the only source of our faith and authority of man in life" you may have to complain to the editor of the church website. http://www.filamchurchmn.org it talks about that in the church History, which also is the words used before. To make you feel happy, my pastor took it off the article. --Timothy Chavis 18:22, 5 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Marybell.gif

Thanks for uploading Image:Marybell.gif. The image description page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

[edit] Bureau Chief/EADA

Was Tracey Kibre a Bureau Chief? Also, once, Donnelly was referred to as an EADA (as opposed to Bureau Chief, which she was usually called when she made appearances). Michael 07:30, 2 September 2006 (UTC)

I suppose. Donnelly was usually always referred to as a Bureau Chief, though in one of the earlier episodes, she was referenced as an EADA during one of the scene changes. I remember the other one. Cabot confronts the EADA Lewin is making her sit second-chair to in the trial of the female rapists (including when Diane Neal was originally on, playing Amelia Chase). It makes it very unclear. The original series emphasizes that there is one EADA, yet SVU has just danced around that, throwing an EADA in now and then (eevn though that isn't consistent with reality). [edit] Image problems

Please refrain from uploading any more images unless you are willing to provide all the mandatory information, including detailed fair-use rationales, for these images. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and we cannot allow you to continue to violate Wikipedia's image copyright and fair-use requirements. --Yamla 15:31, 23 September 2006 (UTC)

You asked: "Might I ask what images have been problematic -- and moreover, what recent addition triggered this?? I know of only one instance (Image:WCCO Logo (2006).gif) where I was the original uploader and lacked essential information. In other instances, the images would have been deleted anyway, (e.g., Image:Marybell.gif). The only reason I was editing them was to remove things such as excessive borders, drop shadows or paddding -- I can't add source information if I am not the user who provided the image. Thank you."

I took a look through some of your image uploads and couldn't find a single instance of an image with the mandatory detailed fair-use rationale, as required by the license for any copyrighted images. It is entirely possible that you haven't added any of these images to any articles on the Wikipedia, in which case please accept my apologies. If you have, though, then you seem to have been forgetting about the hand-written fair-use rationales. --Yamla 21:12, 24 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use

In the long time since you wrote the comments on my talk page, the first image you mentioned was deleted due to violating WP:FUC. Of the remainder, Image:DaimlerChrysler.png and Image:Time Warner.svg were uploaded before the fair-use rationales were required. The rest have now been marked as missing the mandatory detailed fair-use rationales and if these are not provided, will be deleted in seven days. ALL fair-use images require a detailed fair-use rationale justifying their use in the particular Wikipedia articles. This is specifically mentioned in the license text. Additionally, this is part of WP:FUC, our fair-use criteria, and is explained in more detail at Wikipedia:Image_description_page#Fair_use_rationale. Obviously, this is not required for freely-licensed images. And generally, most logos can get away with much less detailed a rationale then, say, a promotional photograph could. But still, they are required under Wikipedia policies. In general, using other articles or images on the Wikipedia is a natural but not a particularly effective means of arguing. I'm not accusing you of anything by that statement; my point is simply that a lot of Wikipedia articles violate policy. This is grounds for correcting the infractions, not for doing the same on other articles. Of course, this is countered by the fact that Wikipedia has a lot of policies and so it is entirely natural to do on one article what others do on another. --Yamla 03:54, 30 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:Massachusetts Institute of Technology logo.png)

Thanks for uploading Image:Massachusetts Institute of Technology logo.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. [edit] AT&T logo

I thought I left a summary...

The reason was because of what was usually used. The 8-stripe logo is typically associated with AT&T after 1999, and the logo I uploaded was used in 1984. The 8-stripe logo you had used was used in the 1980s only in smaller applications, such as logos on telephones. However, in advertisements after the breakup, I have only seen the logo I switched to. SVG may be more practical, but the PNG I had used seems to do fine and, IMO, does more of a justice in explaining the "death star" reference. KansasCity 00:30, 29 January 2007 (UTC)
