This article is connected to category 'Chinese filipinos', yet there is no indication of Chinese descent in the article. Can someone find the facts and correct the article text or delete the category connection, based on the facts. Thanks Hmains 03:40, 19 August 2006 (UTC)

This isn't Filipino Wikipedia, most of use are not filipinos, so there needs to be source for that claim. Monni 05:22, 8 March 2007 (UTC)
ANSWER: If you are interested in Filipino-Chinese community then you should at least know that Ongpauco is a Chinese last name. I don't see people explaining why someone who has the last name of Co or Tan or Sy is Chinese. It is easily recognizable. Ongpauco is a very Chinese last name. Added: However, her product endorsements, ad campaigns & appearances have declined to an approximate of more than 70% from her popularity's peak. She is often criticized for using her natural comeliness to cover-up her lack of talent. This is apparent in her numerous advertisements, trivial awards and lackluster acting, hosting & singing career.
There is no basis for this, this is just an opinion. I'm deleting this.
Added: Her recent religious conversion, as well as her charity/foundation work, has been speculated to have originated from the scandal she underwent regarding a pregnancy/abortion issue. Upon her return from her sabbatical after the said scandal, she had been seen around noted Born Again celebrity Donita Rose (also a star under Genesis) who could've influenced her decision to convert. Of course, there are speculations that this "conversion" & charity work is just a diversion from the real reason behind the scandal, which is her highly unpopular team-up with current boyfriend Jericho Rosales. Whether or not the pregnancy/abortion scandal is true (which was a result of this team-up) what is definite is that her popularity has plumetted with her pairing with the said actor - who has an unsavory reputation.
Again, just an opinion. Libelous even. Whoever is adding these information, stop it. You're just wasting your time.
