Heimiswil is a municipality in the district of Burgdorf in the canton of Bern in Switzerland.
Heimiswil is a small rural community of 1591 inhabitants. It is the town of origin for the Lüdi family, who make up the majority of the townsfolk. Lüdi family members have also taken up residence throughout Switzerland. There are many resturants entitled Löwe (Lion) throughout Switzerland, yet Heimiswil boasts the oldest one in Switzerland. It was built in 1340 and first used a restaurant in 1669. Family Lüdi has been the owners for the last 125 years. Current owner is Daniel Lüdi.
