Hejaz College

Hijaz College is a British Muslim school located in Nuneaton, which combines traditional Islamic education with the British National Curriculum. The philosophy of Hijaz was formulated by its patron and founder His Eminence Hazrat Mujadid Abdul Wahab Siddiqi RA (1942-94). The vision of Hijaz is to create a generation of Islamic scholars who will combine the best of Islamic and secular education, who will work as professionals and provide their religious services for free. It's current principal is his eldest son Shaykh Faiz-ul-Aqtab Siddiqi. The Jamia Islamia in Coventry was founded in 1979, that produced dozens of graduates who became fully qualified Ulema (scholars of Islam) and doctors, lawyers, engineers etc. and some of them proficient in over 6 languages.

In 1994 this vision started to take a different shape in the form of Hijaz College Islamic University. The college takes it's name from the region in modern day Saudi Arabia which comprises Mecca, Medina and Taif. The rapidity of its growth, the confidence in which it has developed, is a certainty that Hijaz will create a wave of leadership. Its graduates will be trained to the highest standards in religious and professional education, ready to lead 1 billion Muslims into the 21st century.

Hijaz is re-designing the basis of Islamic education that was historically the strength of Muslims, which has now been lost to sub-standard or subservient forms of education and thinking.

Hijaz has grown in many aspects one of them being its exciting expansion project covering a total extended area of 97,000 Sq. feet, costing over £5 million and will accommodate the increasing student accommodation capacity from 125 to 750. Its plans includes extended teaching facilities and resources including a library which will display over 700,000 books. Each member of staff is trained to the highest levels of teaching and possesses excellent relevant qualification.

Hijaz is independent from any governmental organisation and relies upon the quality of its graduates for success and reputation; they are the real ambassadors of Hijaz. This independence provides total flexibility, allowing it to control its own future and plan a better future for the Ummah.
