Talk:Help
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
OK, this probably violates a convention in that it isn't an encyclopedia article on help. But I figured some users may type 'help' and here's where they would end up.

Welcome to Wikipedia! So you need some help.
To look up an article, type its name in the edit box at the top of the screen, and click "Go". (Don't click "Search" if you just want to look for an article on something, which is what most people usually want to do.)
Make sure the capitalization is correct. As present, you cannot type "european colonization of the americas" and click Go; you must type "European colonization of the Americas" and click Go.
Remember that anyone, even you, can change any article at any time. If you have a valuable contribution or edit to make, just click "Edit this page", which is a link that appears on every page in Wikipedia. Your changes will appear immediately.

[edit] meaning of help
Perhaps some information as to what the word 'help' means should be added.
[edit] image
The image that was on this page (below) didn't seem to actually be relevant, as no mention was made of help on computers, so I moved it to the online help referenced in the article

[edit] Wiktionary?
This should be in wiktionary.
- Is this article really necessary? In my opinion everything here should be in Wiktionary, or plain removed (like welfare). Opinions?Wahming 08:29, 11 November 2005 (UTC)

- I agree: I think this article should only be in Wiktionary and should even be redirected to a Wikipedia help page. Xionbox 17:46, 16 April 2006 (UTC)

- I would support moving the definitions to Wiktionary, and changing this page into a disambig. --Quiddity 18:47, 16 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] The Beatles
I think this page should redirect to Help! for the benefit of people who (like me) forget to include the exclamation mark.

- I made the above comment at a point in time when this page was completely blank, probably as a result of vandalism. Now that it has been restored, I see that there is a link to a disambig page that, in turn, link to Help!
