Sir Henry Lovell Goldsworthy Gurney (1898–October 6, 1951) was the British High Commissioner in Malaya from 1950 to 1951, during the height of Malayan Emergency. On October 6, 1951, he was shot dead near Fraser's Hill, Pahang, after his motorcade was ambushed by the guerillas of the Malayan Communist Party. Sir Gerald Templer was later appointed the new high commissioner.
Sir Henry had served earlier as a high official in the last days of Britain's Palestine Mandate.
Sir Henry is buried beneath a sweet chestnut tree on his estate in Norfolk. His grave is open to the public on week days between 2 and 5pm.
