"Here to Stay" is a Grammy Award-winning song by Korn that appears on the band's fifth studio album Untouchables as an album opener (its cover was also released in red). It is one of Korn's best-known songs, and was released as the first single from that album, as well as reappearing on Korn's Greatest Hits, Volume 1. The song won the 2003 Grammy Award for Best Metal Performance, as well as winning an award for best international video on MuchMusic in 2002 and being nominated for the best rock video by MTV in 2002. The video for this single, directed by Hughes Brothers was highly successful, and gained frequent airplay on MTV and MuchMusic in particular, featuring the band members on a TV screen amongst major world issues of the time. The song has become a staple of the band's live show.
"Here to Stay" is featured on the soundtrack to ATV Offroad Fury 2.
[edit] Jonathan Davis comments on meaning
“ | Here To Stay is basically about being fed up with people taking advantage of you. I wrote it when being angry of basically being born a nice guy. Nice people always get taken advantage of. And lashing out basically I'm tired of this and I'm not going to let you do this to me, I'm here and I want to be this way. | ” |
