From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Hesitation is the act of pausing due to indecision or uncertainty, in either speech or action.
According to a proverb, "He who hesitates is lost."[citation needed] This is generally taken to be a caution to avoid hesitation, because one who hesitates for too long may miss out on an opportunity entirely.
Instances of hesitation in literature include the soliloquies of the character Prince Hamlet, in the play by Shakespeare.
