[edit] Profile
Apart from having an unusual voice, he plays saxophone, and loves drawing, games and computers. He has been a voice actor since 1988, when he began his career as Murai from Be-Bop High School. Since then, he has participated in many productions, ranging from anime and games to music projects - E.M.U and Zero Phoenix (with another popular voice actor, Nobutoshi Canna).
His favourite anime is Mobile Suit Gundam and he collects Gundam models, as well as Nike running shoes. He is also a gamer. His favourite game is 'Super Robot Taisen F Kanketsu'. As for other personal preferences, Midorikawa likes eating omelettes and stew, but hates sushi. His favourite colors are black, purple and red. He likes playing basketball as well. His personal quote is: Just do it! He also dislikes writers with bad grammar.
He manages his own website: Hikaru's Bar[1]. Additionally, he is one of a handful of people to have a blog on Banpresto's "Supalog" website[2].
He attended Otakon in 2001.
[edit] Career
At one time, Midorikawa and Koyasu Takehito were working together simultaneously in three anime productions as "rivals": The Slayers (Rezo & Zelgadis), Fushigi Yuugi (Hotohori & Tamahome) and Gundam Wing (Zechs & Heero). They also played "rivals" in the Super Robot Wars game series (Masaki Andoh & Shuu Shirakawa). They also collaborated once again as "friends-turned-rivals" when they voiced Shin Kazama (Koyasu) and Satoru Kanzaki (Midorikawa) in the 2004 remake of Area 88. Midorikawa has also worked with Takeshi Kusao simultaneously (in two anime) as "rivals": Dragon Ball Z (Trunks & Android No#16) and Slam Dunk (Sakuragi & Rukawa). They also worked together in Samurai Warriors at the same time, though not as rivals: Sanada Yukimura (Takeshi) and Akechi Mitsuhide (Hikaru). He voiced a character alongside voice actors of the main characters from other Gundam timelines (in the drama CD version of Ouran High School Host Club, where he voices Suoh Tamaki, alongside Hoshi Soichiro (Kira Yamato in Gundam Seed and Hitachiin Hikaru in this drama) and Suzumura Kenichi (who later voiced Shinn Asuka in Gundam Seed Destiny and Hitachiin Kaoru in this drama). He and his best friend Okiayu Ryotaro have played a number of characters in numerous anime and in Kessen III. They either play teammates, friends, rivals, or enemies: Naoki Shinjo (Hikaru) and Franz Heinel (Ryotaro) in the Future GPX Cyber Formula series was their first work together in 1991, followed by Rukawa Kaede (Hikaru) and Mitsui Hisashi (Ryotaro) in Slam Dunk, Schuldig (Hikaru) and Crawford (Ryotaro) in Weiß Kreuz and Gluhen, and Arai Togo (Hikaru) and Shimon Takagi (Ryotaro) in Sotsugyou M. Of their numerous co-appearances, Mitsuhide Akechi (Hikaru) and Oba Nobunaga (Ryotaro) in Kessen III, Mikagami Tokiya (Hikaru) and Kurei (Ryotaro) in Flame of Recca, and Heero Yuy (Hikaru) and Treize Kushrenada (Ryotaro) are among their most notable roles.
