[edit] Rationale of fair use for Hilary Duff (album)
The image Hilary Duff working on Hilary Duff in the studio.jpg is being linked here; though the picture is originally copyright, I (Extraordinary Machine 02:58, 28 October 2006 (UTC)) feel it is covered by fair use because:
- No free or public domain images have been located for this album. While public domain images have been located for a topic related to the subject of the article, they do not adequately illustrate major aspects of the album that are discussed in the article.
- The image is of lower resolution than the original screenshot (copies made from it will be of inferior quality).
- The image does not limit the copyright owners' rights to distribute the DVD in any way.
- The image is intended to represent the recording of the album. Its inclusion in the article is important because it represents the production of the album, which is discussed at length in the article. The image also illustrates information presented in the article regarding the producers and songwriters on the album, and how Duff worked closely with them and was able to have significant creative control over the album. In other words, this image is a suitable image to accompany discussions related to this album.
- The image is being used for informational purposes only, and its use is not believed to detract from the original DVD in any way.
