Hipurnias

The Hipurnias are a tribe of South American Indians who live near the Purus River in western Brazil.
The tribe is mentioned in the 1911 Encyclopedia Britannica, and according to that source, they number two to three thousand and have a native god called Guintiniri. In addition, their houses are said to be long and narrow; the side walls and roof are one, with poles fixed in the ground and then bent together so as to meet and form a pointed arch for the cross-sections. They use small bark canoes and their main weapons are poisoned arrows.
