The Charruas weren't the only group as the first paragraph says. Chanas, Guenoas, and other groups inhabited Uruguay's territory before colonization. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 200.40.215.45 (talk • contribs) 20:54, 18 September 2003.
[edit] No mention to the wars against Argentine?
I know that Argentine tried several times to conquer Uruguay in the 1830s and 1840s, but there is no mention in the article. I find it odd. Any explanation? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 80.32.35.36 (talk • contribs) 11:29, 2 March 2006.

argentina never tried to invade (in the proper meaning) uruguayan territories. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 201.235.224.121 (talk • contribs) 23:46, 7 June 2006.
Yes, it's very odd there's no mention of the big war in the 1840s and the nine year siege of Montevideo. This article is seriously lacking. --Folantin 16:58, 8 July 2006 (UTC)
- Well, why don't you write about those things yourself? As much as I like researching, I know nothing about Uruguayan history and I wouldn't know where to start. —Pablo D. Flores (Talk) 17:12, 8 July 2006 (UTC)
Maybe I was a bit harsh on your contribution. No offence was intended. I might try to fill in some of the gaps myself, as you suggest, in the near future. --Folantin 15:16, 9 July 2006 (UTC)
