- Just a note to add to the standard-welcome stuff up there. Great work on Battle of Lexington and Concord. It was a mistake for me to revert some of your changes before. I left some comments on the talk page there. I'm curious about your opinion of Template:Campaignbox_American_Revolutionary_War:_Boston. Do you agree with starting the Boston campaign with the Powder Alarm? Check out the talk page there for a mini-debate. I hope that eventually, Lex. and Conc. or one of the articles about the battles around Boston can join this list: Category:FA-Class_military_history_articles. But that will take some work to create citation notes. (I'm actually just repeating a suggestion made to me when I joined Wikipedia last year.) Flying Jazz 03:19, 6 July 2006 (UTC)

The Lexington Article still needs some work, I was going to take a close look this weekend. I feel that adding to the article is good, because I never think its a good idea to use just one authors word. I have dozens of books on the revolution, and I am in fact writing my own book cocerning the events of the revolution in and around my home state Massachusetts. I think were the Boston campaign starts is good, the only thing I would add, is I noticed in the powder alarm article there is a reference at the end to Salem, Ma and the incident there. I think this could justify its own article, it is a matter of imporantance and there is much more to the story then what we have already written down. --Historybuff483s 17:24, 7 July 2006 (UTC)

Hi, and welcome to the Military history WikiProject! As you may have guessed, we're a group of editors working to improve Wikipedia's coverage of topics related to military history.
A few features that you might find helpful:
- Our navigation box points to most of the useful pages within the project.
- The announcement and open task box is updated quite regularly. You can watch it if you're interested; or, you can add it directly to your user page by including {{WPMILHIST Announcements}} there.
- The project has a monthly newsletter; it will normally be delivered as a link, but several other formats are available.
There are a variety of interesting things to do within the project; you're free to participate however much—or little—you like:
- Starting some new articles? Our article structure guidelines outline some things to include.
- Interested in working on a more complete article? The military history peer review and collaboration departments would welcome your help!
- Interested in a particular area of military history? We have a number of task forces that focus on specific topics, nations, or periods.
- Want to know how good our articles are? The assessment department is working on rating the quality of every military history article in Wikipedia.
