HK MP5F
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The HK MP5F is made by Heckler & Koch.
A variant of the MP5 is called the MP5F. The F in this case stands for "French". The engineers at HK attempted to improve upon the design of the MP5 because of a potential contract for 35,000 MP5s, some to be built in France under license. Changes inclue a larger buttstock, an ambidextrous sling loop, and several internal upgrades. The internal upgrades are necessitated by the French desire to use extremely high-power 9 mm "+P+" ammunition, loaded to nearly proof specifications. Changes include a stronger locking roller holder, a new redesigned bolt head and bolt carrier, stiffer firing pin spring, and reinforced cocking handle. MP5F parts can be use in standard MP5 to help improved reliability and increased durability.
