[edit] Basic guidelines
A barebone national anthem article should have at least the following:
- Name in English
- Name in native language(s)
- Other national anthems
- Author's name
- Date lyrics were written
- Composer's name
- Date music was composed
- Type of musical composition
- Date the composition became national anthem
- Circumstances leading to adoption as national anthem
- Official lyrics in original language
- Official lyrics in other languages, if any
- Transliteration into Latin, if in another script
- English translation (literal/liberal?), if not English
[edit] Suggestions
- Try to use official government sources first, then consult other websites
- If you must need a recording for the article, they need to come from government sources and be uploaded in the ogg format.
- Ideally, at least the original lyrics, and the English translation if any, should be placed on the wikipedia page, but
- if multiple translations of the lyrics are found, put them all at Wikisource and link it to the article by using {{Wikisource}}.
- Use the {{anthem-stub}} template to mark anthem stub articles that need improvement.
