Holy Bull Stakes
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Holy Bull Stakes, once known as the Preview Stakes, is a race for thoroughbred horses dedicated to the famous race horse Holy Bull. It is held in February at Gulfstream Park and open to three-year-olds willing to race one and one-eighth miles on the dirt. This year the race has been changed to one mile. The race is a Grade III with a purse of $150,000.
Holy Bull earned the Eclipse Award for Horse of the Year in 1994. That year he won everything but the Kentucky Derby which went to Go For Gin. In the Blood-Horse magazine List of the Top 100 Racehorses of the 20th Century, he was ranked #64.
