The Sims 2: Holiday Edition is a strategy/simulation computer game developed by Maxis and published by Electronic Arts. The first version of the game was released on November 17, 2005 in CD-ROM format. It is a re-issue of The Sims 2 with additional holiday-related objects, outfits, and decorations for holidays such as Christmas, Halloween and Thanksgiving. The additional content was released as The Sims 2: Holiday Party Pack for players who have already purchased the core game.
The second version of The Sims 2: Holiday Edition was released in late 2006. Along with the core game, this version contains The Sims 2: Happy Holiday Stuff, which is a repackaging of The Sims 2: Holiday Party Pack with twenty new additional items.

The Sims 2: Holiday Party Pack (named The Sims 2: Christmas Party Pack in the UK) offered only the new content made available in the Holiday Edition to players who already owned a copy of the core game.
The content from this pack, along with twenty new additional items, is made available through the stuff pack The Sims 2: Happy Holiday Stuff.
