[edit] Summary
Current provinces that contain the birthplace or hometown of Philippine vice presidents.
[edit] Notes
- At the time of Emmanuel Pelaez's birth, the town of Medina was part of the now-defunct province of Misamis, which was only split into two provinces in 1929 (made formal in 1939).
- Metropolitan Manila (though not a province), is highlighted as the birthplace of Salvador Laurel and Teofisto Guingona, as it presently contains the independent municipality of San Juan; at the time of their births, San Juan was part of the province of Rizal.
- Metropolitan Manila (though not a province), is highlighted as the birthplace of Arturo Tolentino and Joseph Estrada, although at the time of their births, the City of Manila was not a part of an officially-defined Metropolitan area or province. Metro Manila as a geopolitical entity only existed since 1975.
- At the time of Noli de Castro's birth, the town of Pola was part of the now-defunct province of Mindoro, which was only split into two provinces in 1950.
