Hornbill Skyways

Hornbill Skyways is a regional charters helicopter service operating in towns and rural area in Sarawak, Malaysia. Hornbill Skyways was established in 1978. The Sarawak state government own most the state of Hornbill Skyways.
Their current fleet consists of a few Bell 407 LongRanger and Bell 206 JetRanger. The government also owns a private jet for exclusive use of Sarawak top state government officials.
In 1995 until 1997 Hornbill Skyways used to operated and maintenance Dornier 228 owned by Royal Brunei Airlines.
In 2003 Hornbill Skyways takes over Vision Air Malaysia together with 2 Dornier 228 after Vision Air Malaysia ceased operation.[1] However Hornbill Skyways ceased the operation of 2 Dornier 228 in 2005 for unknown reason, probably is lack of passenger traffic.

- 30 July 1993 - A Shorts Skyvan crash in jungle 13km from Miri.[2]
- August 1997 - A Dornier 228 own by Royal Brunei Airlines crash in Miri. All the 19 passengers and 2 crew perished.
- 3 Hornbill Skyways helicopter clashes occured in July, 2004, September, 2004 and July 2005 had result the death of 14. Including some Sarawak State Minister.[3]
