Lord Pain from the Plane of Eternal Suffering comes to serve his idol, the Grim Reaper. When Grim grows tired of being a slave to Billy and Mandy, he asks his own servant, Lord Pain, to kill them. When Pain comes to finish Mandy off, she convinces him that she's the one in control, and starts serving her instead.

Back in the Stone Age, a young Grim sets out on his first night as the Grim Reaper. When he comes across an old Witch Doctor he's supposed to kill, she has foreseen his visit, and lets little Grim see into the future, where he becomes a servant to two annoying kids...
[edit] Mandy Bites Dog
After Mindy and her Chihuahua, Little Delicious, mock Mandy's cowardly dog, Saliva. Mandy is convinced that she needs another dog, so she summons Cerberus, Grim's three-headed dog from the underworld, with a special dog whistle. Mandy then attempts to train Cerberus to scare Mindy and her dog, while Saliva attempts to win Mandy's attention back.

- The foremost episode's title is a reference to the Irish rap group House of Pain.
- Mandy Bites Dog is a play on the phrase Man Bites Dog.
- Near the end where Billy bursts out of Grim's chest after he wakes up could be a parody of the movie Alien.

- At the end of "A Grim Prophecy" the witch doctor breaks the fourth Wall by telling the viewers their future- an eternity of commercials, then the commercial break starts.
- According to "A Grim Prophecy", Grim's dad wanted him to be the Grim Reaper while Grim wanted to sing. In Dad Day Afternoon, it was the other way around.

- There was no voice actor for Cerberus #2 listed in the credit, though it has been determined that Greg Eagles does the voice.
