HSBC Bank Malaysia offers a full range of personal and commercial services from a network of branches and direct channels.
[edit] History
HSBC established its first office in what would become Malaysia in 1884 on Penang. It added offices in Malacca (1909) and in Johor Bahru and Kuala Lumpur in 1910. HSBC did not expand further until 1947 when it proceeded to include branches in Sabah and Sarawak, including Kota Kinabalu (1947), Sandakan and Tawau, both in 1948, Labuan (1957), Beaufort (1961), and Papar (1962). In 1959, HSBC acquired the Mercantile Bank, and with it Mercantile Bank's branches in Malaysia, which resulted in a quantum jump in the number of HSBC's branches in the country.
