Hugo Broos

Hugo Broos (born April 10, 1952) is a Belgian football manager who, as of 2006 is working for K.R.C. Genk in the Jupiler League. He also is a former central defender who played a long time with R.S.C. Anderlecht. Broos then moved to the rival Club Brugge in 1983. Five seasons later the player stopped his career.
Broos has played 24 times with the Belgium national football team between 1974 and 1986 and he was part of the team who finished 4th in the 1986 World Cup. In 1991 he became the manager of Club Brugge where he stayed six seasons and won the Jupiler League twice. He then moved to Mouscron from where he was bought by his former club Anderlecht in 2002. Broos there managed to win the championship once but was fired in February of 2005. In June of the same year, he replaced René Vandereycken as the Genk manager.
