Stephen Richard Hughes (born 15 April 1987) is a British Mathematician and Composer. Currently reading for his Masters in Mathematics at the University of Liverpool. His most recent elected position within the University of Liverpool is that of the President of the University of Liverpool Physics Society, PHYSOC.
Born on Oxford Street, Liverpool an area now occupied by student accommodation to parents Adina May and William Phillip Edmond Hughes. Attending Rudston Primary School located in Childwall, Liverpool from the ages of five to eleven. He then moved permanently to Greasby, Wirral where he attended what is now Pensby Sports College. An application was made in October 2004 to Cambridge University, Gonville and Caius to read medicine. Alas the application was unsuccessful as where the applications to three other medical schools: Durham University, Keele University and Leeds University. This allowed a long life passion for the study in Mathematics to begin at the University of Liverpool.
