Hurlers Cross

Hurlers Cross (Irish: Croise na h-Iománai), part of Newmarket on Fergus parish, is a small town located in western Ireland, adjacent to Shannon Town. It is a meeting place, a village six miles from both Sixmilebridge and Newmarket-on-Fergus. The town population is approximately 40 people.
The name is derived from a meeting of three roads. One to Shannon town, One to Newmarket-on-Fergus and one to Limerick. That last one is now closed off at the end of the village. It used to be a rather traffic-heavy town being on the main road between the aforementioned places. Recently a motorway from Limerick to Shannon was constructed which took away the traffic. The town is now wedged between that road and a slightly smaller thoroughfare.
