Hurricane Gert

The name Gert has been used for four tropical cyclones in the Atlantic Ocean.
- 1981's Hurricane Gert - caused heavy rainfall to several Caribbean islands but no significant damage.
- (not used in 1987)
- 1993's Hurricane Gert - struck Nicaragua and Belize, then made final landfall at Mexico, causing 76 deaths in the region and over $160 million in damage.
- 1999's Hurricane Gert - reached Category 4 strength, threatened Bermuda but turned away before striking.
- 2005's Tropical Storm Gert - earliest seventh-storm formation in the Atlantic Ocean since record-keeping began, breaking the old record set in 1936 by 14 days. Landed near Tampico, Mexico.
