HIFE (acronym for Hybrid Interactive Fan (or Family) Entertainment) is a concept adding play/voting elements to any TV-program or DVD content, except those built for and with interactive elements (play/voting) built in, such as in a Game Show.
HIFE changes viewers watching any type of TV and or DVD program (documentary,live TV sports, special interest…) from passive to active viewers, hence HIFE also has an effect of keeping the audience attentive. Most HIFE includes voting (opinion) or trivia elements in their on-screen questions, sometimes linked to winning prizes. The interactivity of HIFE is delivered through Mobile phone or fixed land lines, remote-control or the Internet, through voice-mail,SMS, MMS, email.
